Spring is FINALLY here....
I LOVE event season! The hustle & bustle of all the prep work, the excitement of promoting each event, perfecting every little detail of our booth set up, networking with other vendors, and of course, let’s not forget all the yummy food! But my absolute favorite part of doing events is the ability to interact, in person, one on one, with YOU, our amazing customers!
This weekend we kicked off our spring event schedule at the Nations’ Hope Vintage Marketplace in Montvale, VA. As we are all painfully aware, this spring hasn’t exactly been spring like! Here in the Blue Ridge Mountains we’ve had a crazy mix of sunshine & warm temps, followed by lots of wind, cold, and the occasional snow flurries, only to go back to warm the next day. I can only imagine the stress all of our event coordinators have had to endure from waiting to see what Mother Nature has up her sleeve!
Lucky for us, this weekend was absolutely gorgeous! We had the most beautiful, sunshiney day, the kind where there isn’t a cloud in the sky, and perfect temps for an outdoor market.
A Market for Ministry...
NHV Marketplace is a brand new event to our area. This was their first year hosting it at Lazy Creek Cabin in Montvale, a small community located between Roanoke & Bedford. This event was hosted by Global Partners, a local non-profit that ministers across multiple platforms locally & internationally.
Our family has a heart for mission work. Two years ago, my husband, Mark, went to Guatemala with our church on a medical mission trip. The impact that experience had on us as a family was tremendous. So when we were approached about participating in this event, we jumped at the chance to help another group in their mission work. Click here to learn more about Global Partners & their ministry.
Buy all the things!
The NHV Marketplace was packed full of amazing vendors – everything from local antique dealers to vintage upcyclers to handcrafted jewelry. We made some fabulous new friends, like local interior designer & furniture dealer, Maple Lane Interiors. Their booth was packed full of gorgeous large pieces, perfect accessories, and thoughtfully picked vintage touches.
I managed to keep my shopping to a minimum but let me tell ya, it was tough! I did snag these adorable signs from Homestead Relics! I can't wait to hang them in the candle shoppe!
It’s not often that I get to spend the entire day with my business BFF, Whitney Vaughn of Saved By Grace Co., but I was super lucky that she was also a vendor at this event! Her booth was insanely gorgeous, as always, and I was able to snag a few of her new shirt designs before they officially launched! The best part was getting to watch her to her thing…her mission is to help people find Jesus in every day places and let me tell you right now, she was doing that all day! We were able to grab a selfie at the end of day – she looks like a super model while I’m a sweaty, hot mess!
Eat all the things!
And let’s not forget the fabulous food! I always try to bring snacks and drinks because I never know if I’ll be able to eat a real meal, but lucky for me, I grabbed breakfast before it got too crazy! Have you ever had breakfast cheese fries? They. Are. Amazing. The Cooking Momma’s food truck brought their breakfast game and it was delicious! Lucky for me, Saturday’s are my “cheat” days!
As you can see, it was a fabulous day! We met so many repeat customers who had bought candles from us at other events or from one of our stockists and were thrilled to come across us again! Nothing makes me happier than hearing someone say how much they love our products. After 13 years of doing this, it still doesn’t get old! There’s no higher form of flattery to me than someone choosing to spend their hard earned money on something that I’ve made. And when they make that choice again and again, I can’t tell you what that means to me! Thank you to everyone who came out and shopped at the NHV Marketplace this weekend and to the organizers who put so much work into such a fun event!
On the road again...
Spring Event Season continues for us this weekend and it’s a big one! We’re off to Clemmons, NC, for Southern Charm at the Farm. Y’all this is the LARGEST event we have ever done! To say that I am stressing out is an understatement! You have got to come check out this show – its packed full of the best of the best in vintage, antique, farmhouse, and handmade vendors from all over! We are so excited to be a part of it!
